Sense and Sensibility
On the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, Onirico pays tribute to the writer with a work that translates the duality of reason and emotion into form and color.
The sculpture consists of two distinct and interconnected elements: a black geometric structure, inspired by “Euclid’s Elements”, symbolizing logic and rationality, and a soft harmonious blue form representing sentiment.
At its peak, a round red circle: the heart, the driving force of our passion.
Within both elements, various components suggest the ongoing interplay between sense and sensibility, revealing how these seemingly opposing forces constantly influence each other.
The result is a dynamic balance that reflects the complexity of the human soul, perfectly in tune with the themes Austen explored in her works.
